Cricket (no, not the game)…

Ratty recently relocated his Rat’s nest…

Lookin for sumwhere to stay that suits is tough, the nicest places cost too much an the cheep ones are dives, findin a middle ground can take a while…

Ratty was stoppin wiv Bear for a bit, really nice guy but a long way from The Office, not that the ole rodent minds the odd long drive, the place was nice but was costin an arm anna leg to go to work!

Cricket hears of the need an offers a house-share to ratty… The price is rite, just minutes from The Office (and minutes from Mouse, too!!) an the place is kosher… The deal is done and Ratty has been rescued!

Cricket is a ‘nice guy’, bit of a giant but a gentle one. Best yet, he goes out – lots!

The ole rodent has landed on all four paws, gotta nice Rat’s nest, close to work (an play!) an gets the joint mostly to hisself.

Bin nice to share a beer or glass o’ wine wiv Cricket these past few nites, hadda good chinwag wiv it too, fact that Cricket is a gamer too coulda helped win the share…

Mouse an me

Socialisin’ – Ratty gotta admit, as a geeky sort, that his social skills took a bit of a downturn these past few years… but now there is a Mouse in his life an things just gotta lot better!

Last Tuesday, eatin lunch wiv Mouse, nice an easy like, enjoyin sum good weather…

Me to Mouse “doin anything Thursday nite, Mouse?”, She looks sideways at Ratty, “Why’s that?”, Me “thought you might like to go to the pictures, Mouse…”, Mouse “That would be nice…”

Wednesday lunch, Mouse says “hows about me poppin in to the Rats Nest tomorrow ’stead of goin to the piccies?”, me “ok, Mouse, sounds good t’ me… come round an getta snack wiv me”, “ok” she sez.

Thursday lunchtime, me an Mouse enjoyin lunch at the Mouse house together (she hadta pick up sum gear for the afternoon), me to Mouse “fancy Dinner wiv me at the Rats Nest Saturday, proper like, Mouse?” She nods, grinning “Yeah, ok…” (dunno if I mentioned it yet, wen me an Mouse are together a lot of grinning goes on…)

Remember, Mouse is a great cook, Ratty can cook…, now he’s got hisself into makin 2 meals for Mouse…

Evenin comes, Ratty is turning out all the grub in the cupboard thinkin what to make for Mouse an him… Inspiration hits an a pile ‘o stuff gets thrown onto the worktop… a bit of preparation and a lotta luck later and somethin edible (just) is made ready… Mouse arrives, inna SKIRT no less!! (an lookin amazin!) , (Ratty, knocked over by the sight hasta drink a large glass ‘o wine to settle hiz nerves), an politely eats main course wivout complainin, then she an me settles down for some fun…

Thursday ended up bein great after all, despite Mouse havin to eat my cookin! Was even nice enough to say it was good, puddin was great but we both had part in that so it really hadta be good…

Friday teatime, Ratty thinkin what to eat, phone rings… is Mouse “Fancy comin to mine fora cupple hours? Got some work t’ do an would like some company…”, thinks ‘dinner can wait’ and scoots off round to the Mouse house.

Keepin Mouse company is fun, even when she is workin, meant that work got finished a bit late coz of interruptions, but was done anyway… Mouse offers a ‘bit o’ dinner’ coz we hadn’t et yet, so we settles down to have a nosh anna glass o’ beer. We stopped up a bit late to enjoy each others company, amazin how fast Friday night turns inta Saturday mornin!

Spent mosta Saturday with Mouse too, wiv a cupple hours break to get ready for our dinner date…

Mouse turns up, on time, lookin stunnin! Got her heels on, another slinky skirt, dressed to kill! Boy, did that warm up this ole rat…

Dinner was just perfect, good food, good wine an good company… bein honest the whole evenin was perfect, our first ‘proper’ dinner date ended nearly Sunday mornin wiv both of us feelin satisfied an happy…

An unusual week, really, spent more time wiv eachother than before and ended up wantin more…
